Be not humble

 

It has been said that

The last will be first, and

The first will be last.

 

This has been heard to mean that

Those who make less of themselves

Stand nearer to spirit than

Those who make more.

 

If the humble

Stand closer to spirit than the pretentious,

Do not the Self-less

Stand yet closer?

 

In the absence of Self, no “other”

From whom to be distant –

Only union,

Only Charity,

Only Love.
